Summer is just around the corner and we are going to be forced to peel some layers of clothing away. With warm weather come the cries not only to "help me lose weight", but lose weight quickly, and lose weight now! We pull out the healthy eating books and shop for our healthy eating plans. We start up another lose weight program. Burning fat is important to making the most of whatever fitness goals you are trying to accomplish. Here are some tips to get you going.
Planned snacking. We already know we have limits of how many calories to eat to lose weight, and how to balance our protein, carbs and fat to lose weight fast and easy. But what about snacking? It will help you perform your workout better if you eat a protein bar 90 minutes before your workout. Your body will appreciate the energy and the timing is crucial because any closer to the workout and it will actually zap your energy.
Breathe through your nose to stabilize your heart rate and increase endurance. Do your strength training work out first and finish up with cardio. It takes about 15 minutes for your body to warm up and start burning fat, so only the last half of a thirty minute activity would be doing any work. If you need to lose weight and burn fat and gain muscle you need every minute to count. Working out with your weights first will have your body warmed up so when you start that cardio activity you will be rewarded for every minute.
